    Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer (she/her) is Kanien’kehá:ka, wolf clan, and former Grand Chief of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke. She made history in 2021 as the first woman who also identifies as 2SLGBTQ+ to be elected to the position. In Legacy of Strength, Kahsennenhawe inspires “you are courage” through a conversation with Taiaiake Alfred about her journey, the land, and how we can come together stronger with more love and respect.
